The Society held its 13th biennial Art Award, open to schools in the Malvern Hills district, in St Edmund's Hall, Malvern College from Monday 2nd March to Thursday 5th March 2009.
The adjudicator this year was Mr Julian Bailey seen here with the Malvern Hills DFAS President Mrs T.M.Berrington. He studied at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford and the Royal Academy Schools. He was awarded the Egerton Coghill Landscape Prize, the David Murray Landscape award and the Turner Gold Medal (R.A. Schools). Since 1991 he has exhibited his paintings in London, notably at the New Grafton Gallery, Mall Galleries and Browse and Darby.
