MALVERN HILLS DECORATIVE AND FINE ARTS SOCIETY

HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS AT HELLENS

A curtain

Three Malvern Hills DFAS volunteers along with five people from Ross DFAS, one from Worcester DFAS, one from Hereford DFAS and one member of Hellens staff are working together at Hellens Manor House in Much Marcle.

The existing curtains in the music room are hanging in tatters so the group are embroidering new Crewelwork curtains to replace them. The group is led by Sally Ziesler (Malvem Hills DFAS) who designed the curtains in adeliberately traditional way, and has given training to the group where necessary.

The job has already been going a year (over 2000 hours so far) and will take about another two years to complete. The enterprise has the enthusiastic and active support of Adam and Nelly Munthe who own Hellens.
